HOTBOY Sweet & Spicy Chex Mix
Share
Ingredients
- 18 cups (580g) Chex cereal (I used a combination of 1 box wheat, 1 box corn, and 1 box rice Chex)- I also don’t know how to make this recipe and keep having half and 1/3 boxes of cereal so consider this a recipe to make for friends, family and good will.
- 4 cups (875g) mixed salted nuts
- 4 cups (200g) mini pretzels
- 1 box (354g) Honeycomb cereal
- 1 lb or 4 sticks (453g) salted butter
- 1/2 cup (120g) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup (340g) brown sugar
- 1 bottle (148ml) HotBoy Hot Sauce
- 1 T garlic powder
- 1 T onion powder
- 1 T black pepper
- 1 T salt
- 1 T Chipotle Power
- 1 T Beau Monde
- 1 T Cayenne
- 1 T Mrs Dash Onion Herb
- 2 cups- Mixed M&M’s (*optional, I add it for the color)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C). Line 3 baking Pans with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Set aside. (the parchment or baking mats are not mandatory, I find it helps to keep the brown sugar from sticking to the bottom of the pans)
- Combine the dry cereals and ingredients. (the dry snacks) in your baking pans. (Separate evenly)
- Place the remaining ingredients and spices in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the butter has melted. Pour over the dry ingredients and carefully stir to coat.
- Spread evenly on prepared baking pans and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, then allow to cool completely in the baking pans. The Chex mix will crisp up as it cools.
- Cover tightly and store at room temperature for up to 2-3 weeks.
Notes
- Make It Your Own: The dry ingredients are completely customizable. Don’t like nuts? Leave them out or replace them with extra Chex or pretzels. I have added bagel chips or bugles when in a pinch. Leave them out or replace them with another snack food you think would taste good!
